Foraging Workshop (March Workshops Free)
Come forage with us.
What to expect
Learn how to identify what's good to eat and how to cook it. Discover about seasonality, place and locally sourced foods. What should I bring to the Workshop? As we're in Scotland, the weather is changeable. I recommend working out what to wear off the three-layer system; base layer(s) (not cotton!) either synthetic or wool. Followed by a fleece and/or (if it's cold/if you feel the cold) an insulated jacket; synthetic insulation recommended, as you will remain warm if wet. Lastly, a waterproof layer, for obvious reasons. A pair of soft shell and waterproof trousers are prefect for your bottom half. The majority of this can be packed in a rucksack for easy access. For footwear, please wear either approach shoes, trail shoes or walking/hiking boots. Welly boots are great too! As long as it has good grip (large lugs on the sole) and you're comfy, I'm happy (waterproof is not necessary). A bottle of water and if you tend to get peckish a snack, but we will be nibbling on things as the workshop progresses, as well as the bite to eat we will be tucking into at the end of the workshop. We will be meeting in Roslin Glen Country Car Park for 11am. I will have a bright orange rucksack, so keep your eyes peeled. Every workshop will conclude with a live cooking demonstration using what was found that day. I look forward to seeing you there. Ewan
